About the Role
We are partnering with an engineering company in Sunshine West specialising in precision metal manufacturing. They are seeking a Trade qualified First Class Welder / Boiler Maker to join their specialised team. You will handle precision fabrication, material preparation, component assembly and inspection in accordance with engineering drawings, company Quality Management Systems and Australian standards.
Key Responsibilities
•Read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
•Perform precision MIG, TIG, Stick, Spot, Laser and Plastic welding.
•Calibrate welding equipment settings for different materials.
•Inspect parts using micrometres, vernier callipers, and gauges.
•Clean, grind, finish, and coat completed metal assemblies.
•Operate CNC plasma cutter, centre lathes, and milling machines.
•Maintain strict quality records and follow workplace WHS rules.
•Work effectively with team members to meet project timelines.
Skills & Experience
•Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication or Welding Trade) or equivalent qualification.
•Minimum 1 year full time relevant welding or metal fabrication experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
•Proven precision welding experience working to tight tolerances using MIG, TIG, Stick, Spot, Laser & Plastic welders, manual machining tools and CNC plasma cutters.
•Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, technical specifications, safety documentation, work instructions, and communicate effectively in English with a high level of accuracy.
•Highly Desirable - Certificate IV in Project Management Practice.
