We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Team Leader
to lead site operations, manage teams, control costs, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Coordination
Oversee daily site operations and construction tasks, ensuring work is performed efficiently and in accordance with project plans and standards. - Team Leadership & People Management
Manage, mentor, and support work crews to drive high performance and team cohesion. Lead workforce planning, onboarding, and performance feedback. - Budget & Cost Control
Assist in managing project budgets by tracking costs, minimising waste, and ensuring efficient use of resources. Monitor expenses to ensure alignment with financial targets. - Task Assignment & Direction
Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, providing clear direction and on-site leadership to maintain work flow and productivity. - Communication & Reporting
Liaise with supervisors, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and outcomes. - Safety & Quality Assurance
Conduct safety briefings, enforce health and safety regulations, and maintain a strong safety-first culture on site. Ensure work meets company and regulatory quality standards. - Resource & Subcontractor Coordination
Assist in scheduling and managing equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities to avoid delays and maintain project momentum. - Problem Solving
Quickly identify issues on site and implement effective solutions to maintain project schedules and reduce downtime. - Record Keeping & Documentation
Maintain detailed and accurate records of site activities, workforce hours, incidents, and materials used for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Leadership and Supervision: Proven ability to motivate and guide teams, delegate effectively, and lead by example.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams, contractors, and clients.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying on-site issues and implementing practical, timely solutions.
- Organisation Skills:
Skilled in task scheduling, work prioritisation, and tracking progress.
*Experience using AroFlo or similar job management software is highly desirable. - Safety Awareness: Sound knowledge of WHS regulations, safety procedures, and risk mitigation practices.
- Technical Expertise (Desirable): Understanding of construction techniques and trade practices relevant to carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work.
